WHO WE ARE

     Ministry is the core of what we do at MO Legacy. Basketball can be a great tool in life, but for us, it's an avenue to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.​ Ministry is carried out in many different avenues through this program. Below is a brief description of just a few of those avenues.
 
      First, every player receives their own Bible personalized with their name. Each Bible has highlighted key verses that speak to their identity in Jesus Christ. We know that the teenage years are a crucial time when it comes to establishing identity, and we want to make sure that our players are being rooted in what God says about them, not the world.
 
     Second, we focus on teaching the Word of God. During our season, from March to August, every Sunday during travel, we hold a Bible study or devotional session. We hold these sessions wherever we are the moment, which could be a gym, a hotel lobby, or a restaurant. Mark 16:15 calls us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." and we truly believe that we ARE the Church, no matter where we are.
 
     An additional way that we carry out ministry at MO Legacy is by providing discipleship not only to our players, but to the family unit. Our Directors are always available to our families, whether it is for advice, spiritual leadership, crisis intervention, prayer, etc... We are also blessed with amazing coaches and parents in our program who can provide Biblical guidance, high school and college advisement, and one on one discipleship as needed.

     Ministry is not just something we do, it is who we are. Our prayer is that every player that comes through our program would know that, though we were born sinners, separated from God, He is gracious and has provided us with the free gift of salvation through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. Our only requirement is to believe.

What we put into practice (in life, not just basketball) every day IS our LEGACY! Let's practice the things of Him! 
     While we are a ministry first, we are also, of course, a basketball program. We believe we can develop elite athletes who ALSO have a strong relationship with God, and you don't have to sacrifice one to achieve the other.

     Both our girls' and boys' programs compete on the high level PUMA shoe circuit with NXTPro Hoops. This circuit allows our players to have an incredible exposure to college coaches at all different levels, which helps us to find the best fit for those who want to go on to compete at the college level.
 
     In order to develop elite athletes, you have to have elite coaches. We are blessed to have volunteer coaches who have not only competed at the Collegiate and Professional levels, but also are currently coaching in high school or college. This allows us to provide elite level instruction to our players, and also gives our players the advantage of having coaches who are connected with coaches at the Collegiate level.
